Dowd’s experience, before establishing AlēvCare™ Hospice, includes 20 years in healthcare sales and management with a focus on medical devices in the cardiovascular and electrophysiology space.  Dowd embarked on his healthcare career in 1997 as a Sales Representative with Johnson & Johnson’s ETHICON Division followed by various sales and leadership roles with Medtronic and St. Jude Medical.  Most recently, he worked as the Regional Sales Manager at Abbott for the Southern US.

Dowd earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business.  He moved to Arlington, Texas in 1978.  He actively serves the community and is an advocate for children through his support of Young Life.  David and his wife, Mimi, and their two children reside in south Arlington, Texas.

CRAIG D. PORTER

CFO and Co-Founder

Craig D. Porter co-founded AlēvCare™ Hospice and serves as the CFO and Administrator.  He manages all aspects of Finance and Information Technology and directs budgeting, expense and revenue analysis and forecasting. 

Porter is the President and CEO of Cornerstone Pediatric Therapy which provides children the tools needed to succeed by improving their quality of life through speech, physical and occupational therapy.  Prior to AlēvCare™, Porter was with Ancor Capital Partners, a Fort Worth-based private equity group.  While with Ancor, Porter served in various operational roles within their portfolio of companies, including President of Welcon Medical Products, Inc.  Additionally, he served as Director of Care Quest (a home health agency), a Director of Spencer Industries (a decorative pillow manufacturer), and a Director of The Financial Company (a drapery hardware company).  Prior to joining Ancor, he worked for four years in investment management, including two years in hedge fund operations with the Hunt Investment Group, where he was responsible for portfolio accounting, warrant valuations and structuring private placements. 

Porter graduated cum laude from Austin College with a BA in Business Administration and ranked number one in Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business with an MBA in Finance.  He is actively involved in community outreach through Pantego Bible Church, Young Life and serves on the board of Youth With A Mission (YWAM).  Craig and his wife, Jamey, and their six children reside in Pantego, Texas.
